Adrenalin Quest Adventure Race Concludes in Batemans Bay and Tomakin, Crowning Canberra's Resultz Racing as Champions
Batemans Bay, NSW – February 23, 2025 – The 2025 Adrenalin Quest Adventure Race has officially wrapped up after three exhilarating days of intense competition across the stunning Batemans Bay and Tomakin regions. With participants from across Australia, the event pushed competitors to their limits, testing endurance, teamwork, and navigation skills in some of the country’s most picturesque landscapes.
The race featured three stages from February 21 to 23: a thrilling paddle prologue followed by two days of intense trekking, running, and paddling—all navigation-based.
Day 1 – A Fierce Paddle Through Batemans Bay and Clyde River
The action kicked off with an epic paddle through Batemans Bay and the Clyde River, where strong winds and challenging tides tested every team’s resolve. Some even had close encounters with local wildlife, including a curious sea lion. As rumors of a shark sighting swirled, the stakes of the race intensified. By the end of Day 1, Melbourne’s Elizabeth Dornom and Shelley Bambrook led the pack, with Ed and Helen Steenbergen of Victoria following closely behind.
Day 2 – Mogo MTB Trails and Mogo State Forest Trek
Day 2 brought the competitors to the newly developed Mogo mountain bike trails, where sharp navigation skills were key to finding checkpoints. After the bike leg, teams transitioned into a trek through Mogo State Forest, before finishing with a scenic paddle along the Tomaga River. At the end of Day 2, Canberra’s Resultz Racing team—Simon Ernst and Michael Reed—had edged out their competitors by just six minutes, setting the stage for a thrilling finale.
Day 3 – A Fast-Paced Loop Around Tomakin
On the final day, competitors faced a fast-paced loop around Tomakin, featuring scenic beach runs, a river paddle, and a mountain bike ride through Mogo State Forest. While Elizabeth Dornom and Shelley Bambrook set the fastest time for the day, it was the Resultz Racing team that held strong, clinching victory by a mere two minutes.
Winning Team Insights
Michael Reed, captain of Resultz Racing, shared his thoughts on the race: “The Mogo mountain bike trails were just amazing—flowing tracks all day. We executed a near-perfect race, with only a small detour on a 4WD track that didn’t pan out. But in the end, it was all about consistency.”
