Adrenalin Quest 2026 Heads to South Durras

A new chapter for one of Australia’s latest adventure races.

Adrenalin Quest is heading to the NSW South Coast, with South Durras, Batemans Bay, and the Mogo MTB trail network announced as the host region for the upcoming edition of the Adrenalin Quest Adventure Race.

Set among pristine coastline, rugged forest, and purpose-built mountain bike trails, the new location provides an ideal stage for a multi-day adventure racing challenge that rewards smart navigation, efficient teamwork, and resilience across varied terrain.

The event will once again bring together teams from across Australia to race through multiple stages of trekking, mountain biking, and paddling — testing endurance, strategy, and decision-making over several demanding days.

A Proven Format in a New Landscape

Adrenalin Quest is known for its stage-based format, combining long, physical days with technical navigation and constant tactical choices. Each edition explores a new area, ensuring that no two races are ever the same and that teams face fresh challenges both physically and mentally.

The South Durras and Batemans Bay region introduces a distinctive coastal–forest dynamic. From open beaches and headlands to dense bushland and river systems, the terrain allows for varied stages that demand adaptability and disciplined pacing throughout the race.

Why South Durras, Batemans Bay & Mogo?

This part of the NSW South Coast offers an exceptional concentration of adventure racing terrain within a compact race footprint.

The Mogo MTB trail network provides fast, flowing singletrack and technical features ideal for long mountain bike stages, while the surrounding national parks and state forests deliver complex navigation through classic Australian bush. Coastal sections and sheltered waterways add further depth, allowing the course to move seamlessly between disciplines and environments.

Easily accessed from Sydney and Canberra, the region balances logistical simplicity with genuine wilderness racing once teams leave the township and head into the course.

For competitors and supporters, Batemans Bay offers a strong base with a wide range of accommodation, food options, and services — all set within a relaxed South Coast atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the intensity of the race itself.

Built for Navigation and Strategy

Course Director Sergey Kurov says the region opens exciting new possibilities for course design:

“South Durras and the surrounding area give us incredible flexibility. We can link coastal terrain, forest navigation, and high-quality mountain bike trails in a way that really suits the Adrenalin Quest format. Teams will need to think carefully about pacing and recovery across stages — it’s not just about speed.”

As with all Adrenalin Quest events, full course details will remain strictly confidential until race week.

Mogo MTB Trails: A Mountain Biking Paradise

One of the standout features of the Adrenalin Quest adventure race is its inclusion of the Mogo Mountain Bike Trails/Mogo State Forrest. Located just inland from Batemans Bay, the historic town of Mogo is famous for its gold mining past, but in recent years, it has gained a reputation as a premier mountain biking destination.

The Mogo MTB trails are well-known for their mix of technical single tracks, flowing descents, and challenging climbs. Riders will experience a variety of terrains, including dense eucalyptus forests, rocky outcrops, and open fire trails. These trails are carefully designed to offer both experienced and novice riders an exhilarating experience.

For the Adrenalin Quest competitors, the Mogo trails provide a thrilling mountain biking leg that requires not only physical endurance but also sharp navigation skills. With constantly changing landscapes, the trails keep racers on their toes, making it one of the most exciting segments of the race.
